National Service of Gacaca Jurisdiction
Gacaca courts were established under the National Service of Gacaca Jurisdiction in a bid to know more about what transpired during the 1994 Genocide, to curb the culture of impunity that had characterized the Rwandan society and compelled by the desire to expedite a multitude of Genocide related cases. Institute for Legal Practice and Development (ILPD)
The Institute for Legal Practice and Development (ILPD) is practice - oriented, and offering full time and modular curricula. ILPD has the ambition to become the hub for know how transfer in legal practice. ILPD is also to be community - oriented, in Nyanza and all the cities where training will be offered. It aims to be an authentically African and international Institute for Legal Practice and Development.

Mission
ILDP is an Institute for Legal Practice for all lawyers: judges, prosecutors/OMPs, attorneys, but also for instance notaries, clerks, bailiffs, OPJs, civil servants. A Law Development Centre providing expertise and information, promoting research, and offering professional services.
ILPD strives to turn into the Ultimate Hub For:
*French speaking African lawyers willing to qualify for doing business in English speaking countries;
*for English speaking African Lawyers willing to qualifiy for doing business in French speaking countries.
* For common law educated lawyers willing to work in civil law countries; for civil law educated lawyers willing to do business in common law countries.
National Human Rights Commission
The mandate of the Commission is stated briefly and in general terms in Article 3 of law no. 04/99: "To investigate and follow-up on human rights violations committed by anyone on the Rwandan territory, especially State organs and individuals under the cover of State organs as well as any national organizations working in Rwanda."
