It is an undeniable fact that business has a profound impact on human rights

On Wednesday 21st February 2024, Representatives of Government institutions, the National Commission for Human Rights, Privates Sector, Civil Society Organizations, UN Agencies, Development Partners, Academia and Media met for a one day stakeholders’ dialogue on the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights.

The overall objective of the dialogue is to advance the multi-stakeholder discussions on the development, adoption and implementation of Rwanda Action Plan on business and Human Rights.

While opening the event, Minister of Justice and Attorney General Dr. Emmanuel Ugirashebuja reaffirmed the Gov’t's commitment to uphold its national & international human rights commitments & obligations.

"Today’s dialogue kicks off the consultation process, which will lead to the development, the adoption and the implementation of the first ever Action Plan on Business and Human Rights." He said.
