Kwibuka 25: Minister Busingye joined ONE UN-RWANDA family for commemoration of Genocide against Tutsi in 1994

On Friday the 12th April 2019, Minister of Justice and Attorney General Johnston Busingye joined staff of ONE UN- Rwanda and families of those who worked for UN and were killed in 1994 Genocide against Tutsi in 1994 to honour the victims of 1994 genocide against Tutsi who were working for the United Nations in 1994.

The event took place at UNDP headquarter and was marked with laying wreath of flowers on the memorial monument and lighting candles to honour the victims and testimonies.

In his address, Minister Busingye encouraged genocide survivors in general and those whose family members were killed while working with United Nations particularly. “To you the family members of UN victims of the genocide, we stand with you. Day in day out you carry two burdens: that of the memory of your loved ones whom you lost to the genocide and that of surviving and facing life with courage” he added.
