Minister Ugirashebuja attended the 7th Extraordinary session of the AU Specialisted Technical Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs

From 21st to 22nd January 2023, the Minister of Justice / Attorney General Dr. Emmanuel Ugirashebuja attended the 7th Extraordinary session of the AU Specialisted Technical Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs held in Accra/Ghana to consider three key protocols to the Agreement establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

They include a protocol on investment, the protocol on competition policy and a Protocol on Intellectual Property Rights. These protocols will greatly contribute to the establishment of an integrated single Market in Africa.

Alongside the meeting, Hon. Minister also held bilateral meetings with his Ghanaian and Mozambican Counterparts where they explored ways of strengthening existing bilateral cooperation and exchange of good practices.
