No one will be spared in the quest for accountability – Minister Busingye Johnston

On Wednesday 08th July 2020, Minister of Justice and Attorney General Busingye Johnston had a press conference with the media with the purpose of current status of Rwanda Justice.

During the press conference, Minister Busingye said that the Government of Rwanda will do everything it takes to ensure that public resources are accounted for, regardless of the status of whoever is involved in misusing taxpayer’s money -big or small. “Everyone involved in the mismanagement of public resources, the law will catch up with them, sooner than later.” He added

The Minister of Justice and Attorney General also said that no one will be spared in the quest for accountability and he emphasized that accountability is a foundational value on which the country is built and must be embraced by all leaders. “It should be normal for senior officials to be investigated or questioned in line with holding them accountable…Leadership is a mission people are entrusted with to go and deliver. A leader must fight all temptations that come with trappings of power or else the accountability mechanisms in place will get them.” Minister highlighted
