Rwanda joined the World to celebrate International Anti-Corruption day

On December 9, 2022, Rwanda joined the World to celebrate International Anti-Corruption day under the theme "Promoting Anti-Corruption Values for Sustainable Development”.  The day was celebrated at national level in Eastern Province, Rwamagana District and was preceded by a public march against corruption.

The Minister of State, Amb. Nyirahabimana Solina, who was the Guest of honor at the ceremony, said that the government has put in place different measures and strategies to fight against corruption including Anti-corruption policy, laws, and various Institutions responsible for combating corruption and injustice. She also asked the citizens to treat corruption as an enemy of the country and to fight it as an enemy.

The Chief Ombudsman, Mrs. NIRERE Madeleine emphasized that the National Strategy for Transformation (NST1: 2017-2024) which foresees that in 2024, the Anti-corruption rate is expected to shift from 86.56% (RGS 2016) to 92.56% by 2024 while in its vision of 2050, Rwanda should be the first country globally in the fight against corruption.
