Rwanda signs The Hague Convention
On 14th February 2024 in The Hague, the Netherlands, Minister of Justice / Attorney General, Emmanuel Ugirashebuja, attended the signing ceremony of the Convention of International Cooperation in Investigating and Prosecuting genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and other international crimes (The Hague Convention).
The objective of the convention is to facilitate international cooperation in criminal matters between States with a view to fighting impunity for crimes against humanity, genocide, war crimes and other international crimes.
The signing of The Hague Convention is a historic milestone in the fight against impunity of the core international crimes and its existence will be an important tool for Rwanda.
