Rwanda Participates in 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly, Strengthens Global Security Partnerships

From 24–27 November 2025 in Marrakech, Morocco, a delegation led by the Minister of Justice /Attorney General, Dr. Emmanuel Ugirashebuja, and including the Inspector General of Police, CG Felix Namuhoranye, and the Secretary General of the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), Pacifique Kayigamba Kabanda, joined global security leaders for the 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly, reaffirming Rwanda’s commitment to international cooperation against transnational and organized crime.

On the final day of the Assembly, member countries elected new leaders to INTERPOL’s Executive Committee. France secured the Presidency, while Kenya and Tunisia were elected as the African representatives on the Committee. These leadership outcomes will guide INTERPOL’s strategic direction in the years ahead as the organization intensifies efforts to combat cybercrime, dismantle organized criminal networks, and address international fraud operations.

On the sidelines of the Assembly, the Rwandan delegation held a bilateral meeting with INTERPOL Secretary General Valdecy Urquiza. The discussions centered on strengthening operational cooperation between INTERPOL and Rwanda’s law-enforcement agencies, focusing on enhancing intelligence sharing, reinforcing collaboration against transnational and organized crime, and leveraging INTERPOL’s global tools and databases to support Rwanda’s national security priorities.

Rwanda’s active participation in the 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly reflects the country’s continued dedication to regional and global security collaboration. Through strengthened partnerships and shared strategies, Rwanda aims to further boost its capacity to fight cross-border crime and contribute to international efforts that promote peace, safety, and stability.
