We do not want “signing performance contracts” to be taken as just an event- Busingye Johnston

On Friday 27 July 2018, the Ministry of Justice staff were convened in a meeting with the purpose of signing their 2018/2019 performance contracts. The contracts were signed before the Minister of Justice and Attorney General Busingye Johnston, the State Minister in charge of Constitutional and Legal affairs Uwizeyimana Evode and the Permanent Secretary/Solicitor General Mrs. Mukeshimana Béata.

While opening the meeting, the State Minister in charge of Constitutional and Legal affairs requested staff to work hard and ensure quality with the aim of delivering good services. “It is imperative that we build on what we have achieved together during the last financial year so that we can achieve more during 2018/2019.  We must always remember that we should work hard, and ensure quality with the purpose of delivering good services to our stakeholders” State Minister emphasised.

Minister of Justice and Attorney General who chaired the activity of signing performance contracts, told the Ministry’s staff that signing performance contracts should not be taken as just an incident. “We do not want to take signing performance contract as just an incident; we should reflect on it on a daily basis and strive to achieve our contracts. The more we advance, the more we should improve on our work in terms of quality”. Minister Busingye emphasised.

Among the priorities for 2018/2019, the Ministry will recover public funds resulting from cases of employees’ mismanagement of public assets at the rate of  30%.
